Welcome
We provide solutions for your environmental and geotechnical projects.Unlike the data obtained from borehole drilling, our geophysical methods offer high resolution information at a fraction of borehole price.
EGA Difference What makes EGA different than others? It is our commitment to excellence and our desire to go extra mile for each project regardless of its size and scope. We strive for the perfection and take a great pride in our profession. We are constantly exposed to the latest equipment, software through workshops and conventions. The bottom line is we provide solutions to your projects! |
Environmental Geophysics Associates (EGA) was founded in 1994 to provide environmental, engineering, and shallow oil and gas geophysical services. EGA provides a complete range of geophysical services to a diverse list of clients throughout the United States and overseas. EGA personnel utilize state-of-the-science geophysical techniques, software and equipment to solve simple as well as complex site characterization problems. We help our clients, which include engineering and environmental companies, oil and gas industries, utility companies, and government agencies, to develop accurate, cost-effective solutions to their environmental engineering-related projects .

Geophysical Method of the Month: The Natural Potential (NP) The NP method is one of few geophysical tools that responds to the flow of groundwater, rather than its mere presence. It does this by virtue of the electro-filtration effect, or streaming potential, in which the measured dc voltage at the ground surface increases (either positively or negatively) in the direction of flow.Groundwater moving through rock openings (vertical or horizontal) typically produces discrete NP anomalies that can be detected at the ground surface. EGA has applied this tool extensively over the EDWARDS AQUIFER in Central Texas, for locating caves, faults, and fractures.

EGA has detected NP anomalies over railroad tunnels and abandoned mineral abits and coal mines. Another application of NP is the siting of monitoring wells in karstic terrains. EGA applied the NP technique to delineate organic compounds at a refinery. The NP results showed a diagnostic association between zones of elevated voltage readings and high-concentration distribution of volatile organic compounds (VOCs), both within fracture and solution opening of the rock as well as within its epikarst and associated overburden of residuum. EGA has also successfully performed NP surveys to locate leakages around mine-tailing ponds and earth dams. PLEASE SEE CASE STUDIES at "GALLERY" SECTION.
